Logo Bendywood®

Bendywood® handrails are made of solid wood and cannot be bent to radii smaller than ten times the profile's cross-section.
A 4 cm Ø handrail can therefore only be bent to a radius of 40 cm.

By splitting the profile into layers, it can be bent more tightly, e.g., into layers 1 cm thick up to a radius of 10 cm.
This process allows for tight handrail curves to be made to measure.

PRACTICAL EXAMPLES

BENDS FOR STRAIGHT INTERMEDIATE PLATFORMS
Double bend 150° instead of mitering the handrails
Elegant solution for straight railings, possible with Bendywood®!

Important: The connections to the straight handrails must be reinforced with 20 cm long and 10 mm diameter dowels!

BENDS FOR INTERMEDIATE PLATFORMS
Double-bent 90° flat or 3D without mitering the handrails!

    Double curved handrails 5

The connection to the handrail at the bottom is made using an additional 150° bend, the connection to the handrail at the top is made by cutting the double bend in the middle and rotating the second bend upwards.

All parts are glued together using 10 mm diameter dowels, 20 cm long, and D4 white glue.

Bends made from mold-glued Bendywood® slats are made from the same block of wood, therefore, their color and texture are like solid wood, and are custom-made, as illustrated in the following link:
